Fleas and no pets?

Posted by David Jones on Dec 02 2008, 11:32 AM

I have had a problem with fleas inside my house I do not have any pets. I bought a used dresser from a yard sale and used clothing could they have come in with this?

Answer:

Flea eggs and cocoons may have come in with the dresser.

Pests don’t just ‘happen’ they have to come from somewhere and furniture or clothing is a good way to introduce them. Care must be taken when buying used items. There is a big upsurge in bed bugs in this area and they have to come from somewhere.

They are usually brought in by stays in hotels here and abroad.

Always check for them by looking carefully at mattresses and pillows for tiny bloodspots and often the bug itself can be seen. When you start seeing them and are being bitten regularly you certainly need the help of a professional.

Before you buy anything used examine it carefully, don’t take chances.

If you find bed bugs DON’T move the furniture until it has been treated. You could spread eggs throughout your home
